Aquatics Management App — Software Development Case Study
This aquatics management platform is designed to manage an aquatic center. It replaces paper logs with digital records for various tasks like member check-ins, water safety monitoring, locker assignments, event scheduling, staffing, and incident reporting.
Frontend: Built using React and Vite, it includes features like routing, server state management, and a user-friendly design with Tailwind CSS. Backend: Uses Express on Node.js with session-based authentication and logging for secure operations.
Database: PostgreSQL manages data related to admins, attendance, events, incidents, lockers, shifts, and water chemistry. Mobile App: An offline-capable Expo/React Native app for easy check-ins. The monorepo structure organises code into workspaces for efficient development.
A portable version of the platform can run from a USB drive, using a self-contained server with SQLite — making it easy to launch on any computer. This platform enhances operational efficiency and safety at the aquatic center by digitising essential processes.
